High Mold Areas

Info about finishing exterior wood / deck staining in high mold areas. 

The longest lasting exterior wood finish / deck stain system is the three coat approach. 

1. Rainforest Sealer x 1 coat 
2. Mountain XT Clear 00 x 2 coats.

This creates a hard, waterproof film that mold and dirt can be washed off of.

Maintenance: Biannual washing with Earth Clean is recommended. 

Recoating: Brush or roll a bolstering coat of Mountain XT Clear 00 (usually in a year or two depending on conditions).

Diluting First Coat: Add one quart of Citrus or Corn Solvent per gallon unless the wood is significantly weathered. More info...Dilution

For a simple One Coat exterior stain in high mold areas.

1. Mountain XT - Brown Cedar, Cinnamon Stick, Toffee, Fawn, Raisin, Espresso or such. 

Espresso is the longest lasting exterior wood stain color. 

Maintenance: Biannual washing with Earth Clean is recommended.

Recoating: Wash with Lime Clean and reapply (usually in 2-4 years depending on conditions).

Diluting: Add one quart of Citrus or Corn Solvent per gallon unless the wood is significantly weathered.
