DILUTION: Dilute first coat 1 quart per gallon with Pure Citrus Solvent or Corn Solvent for even absorption on less porous woods. More info...Dilution
Less porous woods include: New Wood, Cedar, Redwood, Hardwoods or any woods that are not significantly weathered.
COLORS: We recommend selecting stain colors that closely match these woods for longevity. The general rule is that darker stain colors tend to last longer. Brown Cedar, Cinnamon Stick and Espresso are listed in order- Mid tone, Deep Tone, Ultra Deep Tone. The deeper the tone the greater the uv protection. However, the Clear 00 3 coat system is the exception to this general rule. This is because the cashew resin is abnormally good at blocking uv radiation. As long as the film is maintained then it keeps the wood from greying.
Instructions are on the back label. For more information see our Deck Stain page. Sample pints are recommended to test color and preference.
